The composition is the artwork of Béla Pásztor. It was erected in 1936 to commemorate the centenary of the death of Ferencz Kazinczy's (1759-1831), who made an important and prominent contribution to Hungarian literature. The statue is in neo-Classical style and shows a woman's figure holding a candle in her right hand. The pedestal is a simple limestone block which functions as a running fountain. On the front there is a brass profile portrait medaillon of the writer. The inscription reads: IN MEMORY OF FERENCZ KAZINCZY - 1831-1931.
